Nestled in the picturesque town of Rangely, Colorado, Kenney Reservoir is a serene getaway ideal for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike.

This 280-acre reservoir, stretching approximately 7,500 feet by 1,500 feet, offers a delightful spot for boating, fishing, picnicking, and occasional seaplane showing off.

Located at 5,350 feet, the east shore boasts a small park equipped with restroom and picnic facilities, providing a perfect setting for a leisurely day by the water. The 40-foot wide boat ramp, although steep and algae-covered at the submerged portion, facilitates easy water access for boats, though it is not recommended for seaplane use.

Visitors should note the mountainous terrain in all quadrants and ensure to check density altitude. With no landing fees or restrictions, and a self-inspection required for Aquatic Nuisance Species, Kenney Reservoir remains an accessible and inviting destination.

The coordinates for the reservoir are N 40° 06’ 52.97” W 108° 42’ 30.56”.
